The National Fallen Officer Foundation is dedicated to advocating for federal legislation that enhances the safety of law enforcement officers. We have been on the frontlines, consulting on public safety policy and assisting Congressional leaders in understanding the risks faced by officers today. Through our efforts, we aim to influence policies that provide better protection and support for those who serve and protect our communities.

The Foundation has led the charge for internet safety, addressing online radicalism and attacks on public safety facilitated by social media. These platforms have enabled harmful activities — attacks on law enforcement, illegal online drug sales, and teen suicides from dangerous video trends — all without accountability. We have called for a revision of the 1996 Communications Decency Act to restrict the broad immunity granted to these companies, whose unregulated algorithms continue to disrupt American society.

The National Fallen Officer Foundation has consistently opposed the radicalized riots that have swept across the country, causing billions of dollars in property damage, numerous injuries, and deaths from unprovoked mob attacks. These events have also led to countless ambush-style attacks on our police officers, destabilizing policing and use-of-force guidelines nationwide.

The National Fallen Officer Foundation urged the U.S. Supreme Court to limit statutory protection for social media companies that facilitate online radicalized attacks against law enforcement.
Sgt. Tre Pennie spoke before the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee on "Law Enforcement Officer Safety," July 26, 2022.
